Low
Noise Receivers
RST Scientific Research, Inc. has designed and developed low
noise receivers to operate from X-band to Ka-band (8 to 40 GHz)
frequency ranges. The receiver front-end design consists of LNA
followed by a frequency down-converter and provides a conversion
(from RF to IF) gain of > 20 dB. A dielectric resonator oscillator
(DRO) at about half the RF signal frequency is used as the LO
source for the harmonically balanced mixer.
